Sensex continues to trade lower

Indian equities  continues trade lower in noon on Monday. December inflation numbers came down at 7.47%. At 12.24 p.m., the Sensex was trading down 82.42 points or 0.51% at 16,072.20 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 30.35 points or 0.62% at 4,835.65 with 39 components falling.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a decline of 67.88 points or 0.42% at 16,086.74, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 22 points or 0.45%, at 4,844.
Reliance Industries contributed fall of 33.09 point
in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (20.33 points), Larsen & Toubro (15.59 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (14.45 points) and I C I C I Bank (9.97 points).
However, Infosys contributed rise of 21.95 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (15.1 points), Bharti Airtel (4.86 points), I T C (4.26 points) and Tata Power Company (2.29 points).
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Consultancy Services (1.97%), Infosys Technologies (1.45%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.32%), Tata Power Company (1.20%), Bharti Airtel (0.91%), and Wipro (0.76%).
On the other hand, Reliance Industries (2.09%), Larsen & Toubro (2.01%), H D F C Bank (1.93%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.91%), D L F (1.83%), and Hindustan Unilever (1.80%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Mid-cap Space
The BSE Midcap index was at 5557.51 down by 24.83 points or by 0.44%. The major losers were Alok Industries (1.81%), Andhra Bank (1.42%), Amara Raja Batteries (1.31%), Amtek India (0.76%) and Alfa-Laval (India) (0.04%).
