Nse Nifty Sensex live news


Sensex up over 217 pts

Goldennifty says:            Indian equities continued to gain for the third day on Tuesday. At 10.29 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 217.60 points or 1.34% at 16,406.96 with 28 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 69.10 points or 1.42% at 4,943.00 with 46 components gaining. 

The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 81.51 points or 0.50% at 16,270.87, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 30.60 points or 0.63%, at 4,904.50.


Reliance Industries contributed rise of 31.6 points in the Sensex. It was followed by State Bank Of India (16.77 points), Larsen & Toubro (16.67 points), H D F C Bank (15.05 points) and Tata Motors (13.22 points).

However, I T C contributed fall of 3.97 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (1.59 points), ACC (1.95 points), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (2.23 points) and Tata Power Company (2.5 points).

Major gainers in the 30-share index were Hindalco Industries (3.44%), Maruti Suzuki India (3.29%), Sterlite Industries (India) (3.25%), Tata Motors (2.95%), State Bank Of India (2.69%), and Tata Steel (2.54%).

On the other hand, I T C (0.29%), and Tata Consultancy Services (0.20%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.

Mid & Small-cap Space

The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger counterparts gaining 1.20% and 1.29% respectively.

The major gainers in the
BSE Midcap were A I A Engineering (4.57%), A B G Shipyard (2.68%), Aban Offshore (2.58%), Alstom Projects India (1.05%) and CORE Education and Technologies (0.58%).

The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Action Construction Equipment (4.05%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (2.5%), Provogue (India) (1.39%), Trident (0.98%) and INEOS ABS (India) (0.03%).
