Sensex opens 68 points lower

Goldennifty says: indian equities dropped in early trade on Monday erasing earlier gains. The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a decline of 67.88 points or 0.42% at 16,086.74, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 22.00 points or 0.45%, at 4,844.00.
At 9.49., the Sensex was trading down 49.13 points or 0.30% at 16,105.49 with 22 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 21.95 points or 0.45% at 4,844.05 with 43 components falling.
Reliance Industries contributed fall of 20.72 points in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (12.69 points), Larsen & Toubro (12.19 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (12 points) and State Bank Of India (7.31 points).
However, Infosys contributed rise of 16.69 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Bharti Airtel (11.45 points), Tata Consultancy Services (9.75 points), I T C (5.22 points) and Wipro (2.82 points).
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (2.12%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.19%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.15%), Infosys Technologies (0.98%), Wipro (0.92%), and Tata Power Company (0.83%).
On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro (1.67%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.35%), Reliance Industries (1.31%), Tata Motors (1.27%), State Bank Of India (1.25%), and H D F C Bank (1.23%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
