United States copper mine production declined by 4% year-on-year to 95,300 metric ton in October 2011 and up by 3.6% month-to-month in February, as per the latest updates from US Geological Survey (USGS).

The average daily copper mine production in October was essentially unchanged from that in September but was about 3% lower than that in October 2010. Year-to-date mine production and consumption of refined copper through October 2011 were unchanged from those during the same period in 2010. U.S. production of refined copper, however, declined by 9% during the same comparative periods.

World mine production of copper for the first 10 months of 2011 was essentially unchanged from that during the same period of 2010, despite an increase in global capacity, as per International Copper Study Group (2011).
