Sensex continues flat trade; SBI, Tata Steel most active

Indian equities still trading in a lackluster manner due to lack of cues. Sustained profit booking was seen in realty and capital goods.

Sensex was trading down 22.58 points or 0.13% at 17,726.11 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 9.70 points or 0.18% at 5,371.90 with 30 components falling. 

The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened flat with a rise of 13.01 points or 0.07% at 17,761.70, while the broad based NSE Nifty began flat with a gain of 0.50 points or 0.01%, at 5,382.10.

Sensex Movers

 Larsen & Toubro contributed fall of 16.21 points in the Sensex. It was followed by State Bank Of India (12 points), Tata Consultancy Services (9.04 points), Wipro (8.06 points) and Infosys (8.03 points).

However, Reliance Industries contributed rise of 21.07 points in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (17.37 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (5.65 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (5.06 points) and Hero Motocorp (4.35 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Hero Honda Motors (1.83%), Coal India (1.70%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.60%), H D F C Bank (1.49%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.48%), and G A I L (India) (1.44%). 

On the other hand, Tata Power Company (3.25%), D L F (2.73%), Wipro (2.43%), Cipla (1.82%), Larsen & Toubro (1.81%), and State Bank Of India (1.60%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
