STOCK MARKET OPENING LEVELS

The market may edge higher in early trade on mostly firm Asian stocks. Trading of S&P CNX Nifty futures on the Singapore stock exchange indicates a gain of 31 points at the opening bell.
The board of directors of Bank of Baroda has approved issuing up to 5% of pre-issue paid up capital of the bank to Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC)/mutual funds on preferential basis. The bank announced this after market hours on Monday.
Across the board selling pressure dragged key benchmark indices lower for the fourth consecutive trading session on Monday, 27 February 2012. The BSE Sensex lost 477.82 points or 2.67% to settle at 17,445.75, its lowest closing level since 2 February 2012.
