Goldennifty says: Indian equities bounced back on Friday snapping earlier losses. At 10.58 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 81.58 points or 0.51% at 16,119.09 with 20 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 24.20 points or 0.50% at 4,855.45 with 35 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 107.06 points or 0.67% at 16,144.57, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 30.70 points or 0.64%, at 4,861.95.
Tata Motors contributed rise of 11.97 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Larsen & Toubro (10.85 points), Bharti Airtel (9.44 points), Reliance Industries (8.58 points) and State Bank Of India (8.45 points).
However, Housing Development Finance Corporation contributed fall of 7.83 points in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (7.11 points), Hero Motocorp (2.1 points), Infosys (1.71 points) and Hindalco Industries (0.59 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (2.74%), Tata Power Company (2.38%), Coal India (2.37%), Tata Steel (1.84%), Bharti Airtel (1.75%), and Larsen & Toubro (1.48%).
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto (1.17%), Hero Honda Motors (0.98%), H D F C Bank (0.69%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.68%), G A I L (India) (0.57%), and Hindalco Industries (0.30%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.98% and 1.01% respectively.
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Alstom Projects India (1.85%), Aban Offshore (0.93%), A I A Engineering (0.32%), A B G Shipyard (0.32%) and CORE Education and Technologies (0.04%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Genesys International Corporation (4.39%), Adhunik Metaliks (3.05%), Reliance MediaWorks (2.55%), Trident (1.84%) and Advanta India (1.56%). www.goldennifty.com
