The National Stock Exchange's NSE Nifty was at 5028.95, up 10.55 points or 0.21 per cent. The broader index touched a high of 5054.60 and low of 5025.30 intraday. Broadly speaking market are near to the supply zone of 5032 to 5099 levels. On the downside, NSE Nifty has support at 4977 - 4920 levels.
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE Bankex was up 2.82 per cent, BSE Realty Index gained 1.46 per cent, BSE Power Index moved 1.02 per cent higher and BSE Auto Index was up 0.80 per cent. BSE FMCG Index was down 1.14 per cent, BSE Healthcare Index slipped 0.51 per cent and BSE Oil&gas Index declined 0.12 per cent.
Bajaj Auto (5.75%), ICICI Bank (5.42%), Hero MotoCorp (3.59%), Jindal Steel (3.02%) and DLF (2.16%) were the major Sensex gainers.
Coal India (-3.17%), M&M (-2.79%), ITC (-2.59%), Maruti Suzuki (-2.44%) and Tata Motors (-0.92%) were the major losers.
