Indian equities bounced back in early trade on Friday snapping earlier losses. The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened flat with a rise of 0.51 points or 0.00% at 18,079.01, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 4.15 points or 0.08%, at 5,479.15.
At 09.21 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 53.34 points or 0.30% at 18,131.84 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 19.55 points or 0.36% at 5,502.85 with 42 components gaining.
Sensex Movers
State Bank Of India contributed rise of 11.57 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Bharti Airtel (10.61 points), Larsen & Toubro (8.39 points), Tata Consultancy Services (8.05 points) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (5.86 points).
However, Housing Development Finance Corporation contributed fall of 37.31 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I C I C I Bank (12.63 points), Reliance Industries (3.05 points), H D F C Bank (2.11 points) and I T C (0.32 points).
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (1.91%), Sterlite Industries (India) (1.83%), D L F (1.75%), Hindalco Industries (1.63%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.46%), and State Bank Of India (1.40%).
On the other hand, Housing Development Finance Corporation (3.11%), I C I C I Bank (0.93%), H D F C Bank (0.18%), and Reliance Industries (0.17%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.58% and 0.55% respectively.
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Allcargo Logistics (6%), Aban Offshore (2.3%), A B G Shipyard (2.17%), Alstom Projects India (1.89%) and Alok Industries (0.22%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Advanta India (3.1%), Adhunik Metaliks (2.19%), Reliance MediaWorks (1.75%), Provogue (India) (0.77%) and Ahmednagar Forgings (0.06%).
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Allcargo Logistics (6%), Aban Offshore (2.3%), A B G Shipyard (2.17%), Alstom Projects India (1.89%) and Alok Industries (0.22%).

Sectors in Limelight
The Consumer Durables index was at 6,635.28, up by 111.05 points or by 1.70%. The major gainers were Gitanjali Gems (2.3%), Titan Industries (2.23%), T T K Prestige (0.7%), Rajesh Exports (0.62%) and Bajaj Electricals (0.5%).
The Realty index was at 1,999.72, up by 26.32 points or by 1.33%. The major gainers were Sunteck Realty (4.65%), Oberoi Realty (1.8%), D L F (1.75%), Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.33%) and Anant Raj Industries (0.94%).
The Metal index was at 12,063.39, up by 119.11 points or by 1.00%. The major gainers were Hindustan Zinc (4.52%), Hindalco Industries (1.63%), Jindal Steel & Power (0.75%), Bhushan Steel (0.32%) and Coal India (0.17%).
The Power index was at 2,334.15, up by 22.66 points or by 0.98%. The major gainers were Adani Power (1.91%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.46%), Crompton Greaves (1.32%), G M R Infrastructure (1.09%) and Reliance Infrastructure (0.51%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was positive with 673 advances against 216 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Housing Development Finance Corporation topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 1,105.94 million. It was followed by State Bank Of India (Rs. 76.98 million), Housing Development and Infrastructure (Rs. 21.94 million) and I C I C I Bank (Rs. 21.66 million).
The volume chart was led by Prraneta Industries with trades of over 5.16 million shares. It was followed by Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.63 million), Lanco Infratech (0.99 million) and Firstsource Solutions (0.93 million).
