Sensex flat with positive bias at open



Indian markets bounced back in early trade on Monday snapping earlier losses. The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened flat with a rise of 13.01 points or 0.07% at 17,761.70, while the broad based NSE Nifty began flat with a gain of 0.50 points or 0.01%, at 5,382.10.

Sensex was trading up 42.20 points or 0.24% at 17,790.89 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 0.75 points or 0.01% at 5,382.35 with 30 components gaining


Reliance Industries contributed rise of 12.75 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (7.49 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (5.36 points), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (4.4 points) and Hindustan Unilever (3.72 points).
 
However, State Bank Of India contributed fall of 13.3 points in the Sensex. It was followed by D L F (5.03 points), Tata Power Company (3.62 points), Larsen & Toubro (2.53 points) and Reliance Communications (1.37 points).

Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Coal India (1.78%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.61%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.26%), Hero Honda Motors (1.03%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.85%), and Bajaj Auto (0.83%).
 
On the other hand, D L F (4.49%), State Bank Of India (1.83%), Tata Power Company (1.67%), Cipla (0.52%), Jindal Steel & Power (0.39%), and Wipro (0.31%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
