Sensex jumps 260 points; Auto




Indian markets continued to gain for the third day on Wednesday. Sensex was trading up 260.32 points or 1.46% at 18,108.89 with 27 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 80.90 points or 1.49% at 5,496.95 with 46 components gaining. 

The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 151.73 points or 0.85% at 18,000.30, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 44.55 points or 0.82%, at 5,460.60.

Sensex Movers

Tata Motors contributed rise of 36.51 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Larsen & Toubro (36.14 points), I C I C I Bank (32.04 points), Infosys (24.86 points) and Bharti Airtel (14.04 points). 

However, Reliance Industries contributed fall of 13.88 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Hindustan Unilever (3.63 points), NTPC (0.61 points), and ACC (1.23 points).

Major gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Motors (6.59%), Sterlite Industries (India) (4.37%), Larsen & Toubro (3.94%), Maruti Suzuki India (3.62%), Mahindra & Mahindra (3.21%), and D L F (3.15%). 

On the other hand, Reliance Industries (0.74%), Hindustan Unilever (0.70%), and NTPC (0.17%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
